My Story

As a ranch girl in rural Montana, I’ve learned how to create things by hand. Now I’m sharing these items with others!

Hey there, I’m Mariah Carey Ward. I grew up on my family’s cattle ranch in rural Montana, where I learned the true meaning of hard work and how to create things using my hands. The western way of life is so important to me.

I am now a stay at home mama and do leatherwork whenever our little girls let me! In any free time that I have, I enjoy spending time with my family and dogs and helping on my family’s ranch.

Although my grandmother did leatherwork most of her life and various cousins & my brother took leathercraft in 4-H, it wasn’t until during my time as a 4-H leader that I found a passion in leatherwork. It didn’t take long for things to spark - since then, I have been building my knowledge, skills, and business a little bit every day.

My work consists of a mix of custom work and inventory for in person events & my website.  I mostly create customs during the summer and participate in holiday shows in the fall and winter.

I create leather goods that preserve the people, places, and traditions my customers want to carry with them. Initials that represent a family. Tooled scrolls inspired by classic western craftsmanship. A favorite mountain scene. A beloved heart horse.

These leather items are built for everyday use and made to grow more beautiful with time. These pieces are meant to be carried, gifted, and eventually passed on. Belts meant to be worn for decades. Wallets that age with the owner.

I take pride in offering something for everyone. I believe handcrafted leather should be accessible to every customer, whether you're searching for a simple wallet, a statement bag, or a personalized heirloom.
